20th ANNUAL
For the 20th consecutive year, runners will converge on Jersey City to compete in the Newport Liberty Half Marathon. Over 3000 runners will vie for prize money and awards in the half marathon which serves as the USATF-NJ Championship for open and masters, men and women. Let the Liberty Half help prepare you for your fall marathon. The Half Marathon course offers breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and the Manhattan skyline. Amenities include mile clocks, water and energy drink stations, the Newport Liberty Half long sleeve T-shirt, refreshments and random prizes. Directions are listed below. DIRECTIONS: From NYC/Holland Tunnel: Take the Holland Tunnel into New Jersey; stay in
far LEFT lane and go to 4th traffic light, following "Holland Tunnel and
Local" signs. At 4th traffic light ("Left Lane Must Turn Left;" Sunoco
Station on far right; DO NOT take ramp to Route 1-9, Turnpike), make LEFT
onto Jersey Ave. Continue straight through traffic light (12th St.).
Immediately bear LEFT onto 11th St. Viaduct, which becomes Newport Parkway.
DO NOT take "Newport Centre Mall Parking" exit ramp. Continue straight down
viaduct, past "Mall Drive East," and enter 6-story parking garage on your
