Whether you are a runner, cyclist, or walker you’ll enjoy a great day in the country at Miles for Matheny. All events start at Liberty Park in the center of Peapack, a rural community nestled in the beautiful hills of Somerset County. Hundreds will join us for a morning of running, cycling, a kids fun run and our signature wheelchair walk, where you'll get to meet some of the wonderful Matheny residents and students, all who benefit from the funds raised at this event. Delicious refreshments will be available throughout the day. Our 5K Run winds through this picturesque town and the cycle rides transverse the most beautiful rural country roads in NJ. You can choose from the 10, 25, 35 or 50 mile rides. There is also "The 50 Mile Hills of Attrition" for endurance cyclists. See easy directions below from Routes 287, 78 or 206. Please join us the first Sunday in June! Runners: After you run your 5K, please stay for the Wheelchair Walk to cheer on our patients for whom this event was created. You can even join them to walk the 1.5 mile route through town. The walk starts at 1. Please cheer them on.................Thanks! Miles for Matheny -- Walkin’, Wheelin’ and Runnin’! WHO BENEFITS? The Matheny Medical and Educational Center is dedicated to helping children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities achieve the highest quality of life possible. A medical center, private school, community services, and arts center, Matheny is also home to children and adults with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Lesch-Nyhan disease, and a range of associated clinical conditions that affect every single aspect of their lives. MILES FOR MATHENY raises funds for the Matheny Center of Medicine and Dentistry, where outpatient healthcare is provided to people with mild to severe developmental and intellectual disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, autism and Down syndrome. At the Matheny Center of Medicine and Dentistry, more than 800 New Jersey kids, teens and adults with disabilities receive the best care possible -- the highest quality, easy-to-access, comprehensive care – all in one place. While you are not required to fundraise in order to participate in Miles for Matheny, we encourage you to go that extra mile and help us raise funds for The Center of Medicine and Dentistry by reaching out to family, friends and co-workers to sponsor your participation. It’s easy to do online at www.milesformatheny.org. Through your participation you will help us give kids, teens, and adults with disabilities the quality care they need to live healthy, active lives with as much independence as possible.
