The Rachel Coalition, organizers and beneficiary of the Run for Rachel, is a grass roots consortium of nine Northern New Jersey community organizations representing over 10,000 people. Although the Rachel Coalition was originally formed to address the concerns of Jewish victims of domestic violence, the work and focus has been expanded to serve all ethnic groups living in the suburbs. The Rachel Coalition provides many vital services in the community, including an emergency Safe House, individual and group counseling, community education and a 24 hour crisis intervention hotline.
