THE EVENT
Get ready to choose between a challenging 10K and a very fast 5K. The 5th annual Steeplechase Distance Run, on September 29th, will feature two terrific courses and great runner amenities; one of the most enjoyable events in the state.
The 10K is set on flat and rolling Hillsborough roads featuring mile clocks, multiple energy stations and a challenging test of speed and endurance. The fast 10K and 5K courses run through well manicured neighborhoods with long straightaways. The 5K is a quick loop and
very fast.
We also offer a 5K Walk and Kids Sprints for children from age 2 to 11
at distances of 25 to 150 yards. Our amenities are terrific including a
custom race bag and t-shirt while supplies last. Great refreshments, a DJ, and random prize drawings also await
our participants.
Our 5K WALK is for everyone;
moms. dads, kids, grandparents, other relatives and friends. The Steeplechase Cancer Center at Somerset Medical Center invites you to walk with us through some very
pretty neighborhoods with the option of 3.1 or 2 miles. We are dedicated
to providing healthy lifestyle choices for all so please come walk with
us. And don’t forget to bring the kids for our fun and exciting Kids Sprints.
So, whether you love the challenge of a 10K or want a fun 5K, Steeplechase is just for you. Hillsborough is easy to get to via Routes 78, 287, 22, 202 or 206
and close to all northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania areas.

From points West: Route 78 East to Exit 29 (287 South toward Perth Amboy). Proceed to Exit 17 for Route 202/206 South toward Somerville. Continue to the 3rd exit in Somerville Circle and proceed down Route 206 South. Continue on Route 206 South for 6 miles. Turn left onto Amwell Road. Proceed on Amwell Road for 2.5 miles to Amsterdam Road; turn right onto Amsterdam Drive. Proceed 2 miles to the school on the right.
From points South: Garden State Parkway or Route 1 North to Route 287 North. Take Route 287 North to Exit 14 (on the left) for Route 22 West. Proceed on Route 22 West to the exit for Routes 202/206 South. Continue to the 3rd exit in the Somerville Circle and proceed down Route 206 South. Continue on Route 206 South for 6 miles. Turn left onto Amwell Road. Proceed 2.5 miles on Amwell Road to Amsterdam Road; turn right onto Amsterdam Drive. Proceed 2 miles to the school on the right.
From Northern NJ: Garden State Parkway South
to Exit 142. Merge onto Route 78 West. At Exit 29, merge onto Route 287
South toward Route 202/206 South. Follow Route 206 South signs. Continue on
Route 206 South for 6 miles. Turn left onto Amwell Road. Proceed on Amwell
Road for 2.5 miles to Amsterdam Road; turn right onto Amsterdam Drive.
Proceed 2 miles to the school on the right.
