WHO BENEFITS?

The Union Emergency Medical Unit (UEMU) is a non-profit agency that has been serving the citizens of Union Township since 1956. UEMU provides emergency medical service to the residents, visitors, employees and vendors within the Township of Union and surrounding communities. We respond to calls regardless of the time of the day, night, and holidays 365 days a year. We operate as a first response agency for medical emergencies and provide lifting assistance to those who have no medical emergency but occasionally need a helping hand up.

We offer free medical standby for township activities such as festivals, Fourth of July celebrations, sporting events and feasts, area schools, community clubs, and other events countywide. We also provide demonstrations of our service and ambulances to local schools, day care centers, and community organizations when requested.

The members of UEMU are trained and certified by the State of New Jersey as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) enabling them to provide you with the proper emergency medical care. Our members are continuously undergoing continued training in order to provide the highest and most up to date quality of pre-hospital emergency care. The volunteers and members of Union Emergency Medical Unit range in age from 16 to 82 and come from diverse backgrounds. Union Emergency Medical Unit works closely with both the Fire Department and Police Department to ensure you get the best possible care.
